Forest Hills is where NYMD Center began. The practice opened its first office in Queens in 2009 as a single urology practice, and the borough has remained our home even as the group grew into a multi-specialty practice with a second office in Midtown Manhattan. Many of the staff you will meet at the front desk have been with us since those early years, and many of our longest-standing patients still come here.
The office is at 69-15 Yellowstone Boulevard, Suite 1 & 4, a residential stretch a few blocks from Queens Boulevard and the 67th Avenue and 71st Avenue subway stations. It serves Forest Hills, Kew Gardens, Elmhurst, Corona and the surrounding neighborhoods.
What is at this office
Most of a routine visit is completed on site. We collect blood and urine in the office and run rapid lab testing, so many results are ready quickly and your physician can act on them at the same visit. Ultrasound and EKG are done in the office as well, which means a kidney, bladder, pelvic or vein ultrasound or a heart rhythm check does not require a separate trip to an imaging center.
Some office-based procedures, particularly those that call for the accredited surgery center or the interventional radiology suite, are performed at our Manhattan office. When that applies, your Forest Hills physician makes the arrangements and the record travels with you. You do not repeat your history or your paperwork, and you can return to Forest Hills for follow-up.
Specialties seen here
Our urology, gynecology, internal medicine and vascular teams see patients here; call to confirm a specific physician's schedule. Urology covers prostate problems, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, overactive bladder, incontinence and men's health including sexual and hormonal concerns. Women's health includes annual exams, contraception, irregular cycles, perimenopause and fibroid care. Internal medicine provides annual physicals, management of high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol and thyroid disease, and cardiology testing. Vascular care begins with ultrasound evaluation of varicose and spider veins and leg circulation.
Because all of our physicians work from the same chart, a question that crosses specialties is handled inside the group. A man being followed for blood pressure who develops urinary symptoms sees our urologist without a new intake; a woman whose fibroids are found on a routine pelvic ultrasound can be discussed with our interventional radiology team the same week.
Our neighbors
Forest Hills and the neighborhoods around it are home to large Russian-speaking and Chinese-speaking communities, and a large share of our patients here have been with us for years. Dr. Yulya Timashpolsky, our internal medicine physician, trained in Moscow and sees patients in Russian. If you or a family member need another language, let us know when you book so we can arrange interpretation in advance.
Booking a visit
Same-week appointments are usually available, and we see walk-ins and same-day visits when the schedule allows. Call (718) 360-9550 or request an appointment online and we will confirm by phone. Most major insurance plans are accepted; because participation can vary by physician and location, check your coverage with the front desk when you book.
First-time patients can read the new patient guide and complete forms before arriving. Please plan to arrive about 15 minutes early. Follow-ups, results reviews and medication questions can often be handled by telehealth.
