Medical Spa & Aesthetics in NYC

Physician-supervised aesthetics in Manhattan and Forest Hills: Botox, dermal fillers, Morpheus8, Emsculpt, microneedling, hair restoration, and sweating care.

The aesthetics line at NYMD Center is a medical service, not a spa in the usual sense. Every treatment is physician-supervised, delivered in a medical office, and preceded by a consultation in which we examine you, review your history, and talk honestly about what a given approach can and cannot do. We say this at the outset because it shapes everything that follows: how we choose treatments, what we tell you to expect, and when we decline to treat.

The treatments we offer share a common logic. Skin loses collagen and elasticity with age, muscles lose tone, hair follicles miniaturize, and expression lines etch themselves in over years of repetition. Each of our treatments addresses one of these mechanisms directly: stimulating collagen, relaxing the muscles that fold the skin, restoring lost volume, building muscle, or reactivating follicles. Understanding which mechanism applies to your concern is what makes the difference between a treatment that helps and one that disappoints.

What we offer

For lines caused by muscle movement, such as frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet, Botox relaxes the responsible muscles for several months. For lines and hollows caused by volume loss, dermal fillers restore structure in the cheeks, lips, jawline, and under the eyes. These two are often confused; a consultation clarifies which one your concern actually calls for.

For skin texture, laxity, acne scarring, and fine lines across the face, neck, and body, Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen in the deeper layers of the skin. Microneedling facial rejuvenation works on the same principle without the radiofrequency component and suits milder concerns and maintenance. Both require a series of sessions, and results develop over months as new collagen forms.

For muscle tone in the abdomen, buttocks, arms, and thighs, Emsculpt uses focused electromagnetic energy to induce thousands of contractions in a session, building muscle in a way that exercise alone cannot easily replicate. It is a treatment for tone, not a substitute for weight loss, and we say so plainly.

For thinning hair and pattern baldness, hair restoration begins with identifying why hair is being lost, since thyroid disease, iron deficiency, hormonal shifts, and medications all cause hair loss that no cosmetic treatment will fix. Treatment then addresses the follicle directly.

For excessive sweating of the underarms, hands, or feet, Botox blocks the nerve signal to the sweat glands and provides relief for months at a time. This is a medical condition with a medical treatment, and it is one of the most satisfying things we do.

Our anti-aging page describes how these fit together into a plan over time.

How aesthetics connects to the rest of NYMD Center

Being part of a multi-specialty medical group changes how aesthetic care works. Hair loss in a woman prompts a look at thyroid function and iron; in a man, at hormones. Skin changes sometimes reflect hormonal shifts around menopause that our gynecologists treat directly. Patients pursuing body contouring are often working with our weight loss program at the same time. Our longevity medicine program takes a broader view of aging, of which appearance is only one part. Because the lab, ultrasound, and specialists are in the same building, these connections are made in one visit rather than across several referrals.

It also means the safety infrastructure of a medical practice is behind every treatment. Injectables are administered by licensed clinicians under physician direction, adverse reactions are managed on site, and we have the judgment to say no when a treatment is not in your interest.

How to get seen

Aesthetic care starts with a consultation. We examine the area of concern, review your medical history and medications, and discuss the options, including their limits, their recovery, and their cost. Results vary from person to person, and we would rather set an accurate expectation than an appealing one. Some treatments can proceed the same day; others are scheduled once we have agreed on a plan.

Consultations are available at both our Midtown Manhattan and Forest Hills offices. Cosmetic treatments are not covered by insurance; medically indicated treatments, such as Botox for excessive sweating, may be, and we review this with you before anything is scheduled. To book, use our appointment request page or call either office.

Questions patients ask

What does physician-supervised mean in practice?

It means every treatment plan is set by or under the direction of a physician, injectables are administered by licensed clinicians, and you are treated in a medical office with the ability to manage any reaction on the spot. It also means we will tell you when a treatment is not appropriate for you, or when a medical condition is behind a cosmetic concern and needs attention first.

Do I need a consultation before treatment?

Yes, for anything beyond a repeat of a treatment we have already done for you. The consultation is where we examine the area, review your medical history and medications, discuss what a given treatment can and cannot achieve, and agree on a plan. Some treatments can be done the same day as the consultation when it makes sense; others are scheduled separately.

How long do results last?

It varies by treatment and by person. Botox typically lasts a few months. Fillers last longer, depending on the product and where it is placed. Morpheus8 and Emsculpt results build over a series of sessions and are maintained with periodic treatments. Hair restoration and sweating treatment are ongoing. We give you a realistic timeline for your specific plan rather than a general promise.

Are these treatments covered by insurance?

Cosmetic treatments are not covered by insurance. Some treatments have medical indications that may be covered, such as Botox for excessive sweating or certain evaluations of hair loss, and we bill those appropriately when they apply. We review costs with you at the consultation before any treatment is scheduled.
