Overactive Bladder (OAB)

Sometimes, men can find themselves urinating frequently. While this can be common on days when you drink excessive amounts of fluids, if you find yourself making constant trips to the bathroom, you may be dealing with an issue that needs medical intervention.

An overactive bladder is often caused by an issue within the bladder muscles. They can either be oversensitive or overactive. This is usually the result of nerve damage in the area, and around 16% of the U.S. population deals with it. If you’re looking to treat your overactive bladder, NYMD can help.  Below is a treatment method that our team can implement to better your condition:

Urgent PC

Urgent PC is a non-drug/surgical option that can help get your bladder problems under control. This procedure involves injecting a small, thin electrode into your ankle. The electrode uses a specific type of neuromodulation called percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation which will help you regain control of your bladder functions. After about 30 minutes, the procedure will conclude. However, it will usually take between 5 to 7 weeks of sessions before noticeable changes occur.
